This month's HOT SEATER - hairykids

It all started with my sister's idea of opening up a kid's hair salon. But, once we started to research hair products for kids, it became apparent that what was available was not only inadequate, but most of what we saw was laden with chemicals. It was shocking what people (including ourselves) were putting on their hair...what kids were putting on their hair! From there our focus became hair products for kids...hairykids!

There was no question that our products had to be ALL natural. What would be the point of having 95% great ingredients and then putting a chemical in it? It's kind of like making a great soup, just to put a cup of dirt in it...it ruins the whole thing!
But we had a problem... we knew it would be a harder sell because the products would be so much more expensive to make, which of course would make them more expensive to buy.

So, our job now is to educate. If we could give advice to parents about buying products for their kids, it would be easy. Education. Ask questions. Email the company if you have too. If you don't know what an ingredient is, look it up. Don't fall for cleaver advertising, just because something says 'organic' in the name doesn't mean the ingredients are!

Don't think companies automatically care about your health...find out if they do!! Do your homework. Put companies on notice...products not only need to have great quality ingredients,
but there must be no question about there safety.
