Comments: I haven't typically used air freshening products, as traditional aerosols-type would cause the hair on my arms stand up and make me sneeze. But knowing we were writing about air freshening products, when I saw Air Sense I thought I'd give it a try. It is a non-aerosols pump spray and it reports to 'naturally refresh and neutralize the air with essential oils." It does have a strong scent compliment of the concentrated oils and the D-limonene (clear liquid from the peel of the orange). The D-limonene is of some concern as it is a moderate eye/skin irritant and can trigger respiratory distress when vapours are inhaled by some sensitive individuals. Some evidence of neurotoxin.
If you feel the need to have a household freshener on hand for quick use, this may be an option but use with caution.

Comments: This is the real thing - not a faux potpourri. Real pines needles are tucked into an organic cotton bag with a pencil sketch of a pine cone printed on front. It has the fresh scent of real pine trees. We use this in our front hall and stash it between boots on the boot rack. Every so often a whiff of pine scent wafts by. A natural way to add scent to your home.

Comments: The claims is that this deodorizer was non-toxic and safe for pets and children enticed me, as my “dear ole dog” and my dearer children both come inherently with dirt, smells and hairiness (the dog literally and the kids figuratively!) I have used this on our wool rugs and sofa, after vacuuming, and it seems to work to neutralize any smells. It does not mask them, as the product is unscented. How does it work? Hydrogen peroxide kills microorganisms by oxidizing them, which can be best described as a controlled burning process. When hydrogen peroxide reacts with organic material it breaks down into oxygen and water. This is a standard item in my cleaning bucket.

Comments: As I mentioned I don't normally use "sprays" for scents in my home, but because of this e-bulletin I decided to try one and I lucked out! The natural ingredients combine to make a very nice light fresh scent and I decided to use it on a sofa that my cat likes - the living room sofa of course. Well the unexpected side benefit of the spray is that my cat doesn't like it and no longer sleeps on that sofa. So double thanks to Hemlock Hills for the lovely scent and the salvation of my sofa.
