Rating (out of 5): 4.0 to 5.0
Comments:First off I want to let you know that for 1 full year I'm not using toothpaste with fluoride, I will then go to the dentist and see if there is a difference with my teeth. (Times up in a few months). Green Beaver toothpaste is the one that is now the staple of our home. The range in rating has more to do with the taste of the different flavors than performance. I love the mint but can live without the orange or apple. My kids are just the opposite.

Tester: Patti
Rating (out of 5): 3.5 to 4.5
Comments:We have tried and currently use many of
the Green Beaver brand toothpastes. The are reasonably priced and
more and more available in natural food stores and mainstream pharmacy
and large grocery stores. I though I would like the Star Anise, as
I am a big black licorice fan, but the flavour did not sit well with
me. I like the Mint version and use regularly. The Green Apple is
my young daughters favourite and a healthier choice than
mainstream childrens toothpastes.

Comments: This toothpaste seemed to do the trick,
nice taste made my teeth feel clean. However after reading the ingredients
a little closer I discovered Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate. There does
not seem to be tones of information on this ingredient, due to this
I have not purchased it again.

Product Name: Sea Fresh All Natural sea Algae CoQ10 ToothGel
Cost: $6.00 for 3.4 oz/ 96g
Where did we get it? Where have we seen it?: Natural health food store
Tester: Patti
Rating (out of 5): 4.0
Comments: Patti: I cant decide if the name
of this product turns me off (sea algae!) or made me want to try it.
I think the fresh claim hooked me in. This particular
product contains fluoride as the active ingredient but has a fairly
clean list of other ingredients. I liked the flavour and it has enough
foaming to feel like the product is getting around your teeth.
Ingredients:
Glycerin (vegetable source), sorbitol (plant origin), hydrated
silica (mineral origin), certified organic aloe vera, aqua, sodium
lauryl sarcosinate (protein derivative), peppermint oil, Iceland
moss, xanthan gum (natural origin), menthol (natural origin),
phytonadione (vitamin K), tea tree oil, xylitol (plant origin),
chlorophyllin-copper complex (natural coloring).

powder and stevia extract
Cost: $6.99 for 5oz / 141g
Where did we get it? Where have we seen it?: Natural health food store
Tester: Patti
Rating (out of 5): 1.0
Comments: I was pulled in by the whitening claim
on the label the baking soda and bamboo powder are ingredients
with mild abrasive qualities to polish your teeth. Did mine look any
white? Not really and I did not care for the taste.
But more importantly it was a reminder to pay attention to not only
what they packaging says what is not in the product in this
case no fluoride or artificial colours or flavour but what is in
in this case - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Methylparaben and undefined
Flavor!

Rating (out of 5): 3.0
Comments: Lots of good things in this products but
it is sweetened with sorbitol. Nature's Gate is a common brand found
in natural food stores and large supermarkets and are generally a
better choice than many mainstream products. But the products that
are more natural and even with more organic ingrediehnts available.

Cost: $6.95 for 3.3oz/97.5g
Where did we get it? Where have we seen it?: Natural health food store
Tester: Claire
Rating (out of 5): 4.0
Comments: This is a kids toothpaste and my
kid liked it. It was a palatable flavour and had a pink
colour which is familiar to a well-loved mainstream brand. Free from
fluoride, detergents, synthetic fragrances colours and preservatives.
A bit pricey for all 3 kids to use daily, so I kept it for the littlest.

Brand Name: WalaVita Holistic Dental Care
Product Name: Neen & Mint Toothpaste
Cost: $7.95 for 2.5 fl.oz. / 74ml
Where did we get it? Where have we seen it?: Lilou Organics, Natural
health food store
Tester: Patti
Rating (out of 5): 4.0
Comments: This brand is a branch of Dr. Haushka,
a well known natural cosmetic and facial product line which I have
used many times. I wanted to like this toothpaste, as it has been
developed with holistic principles using natural ingredients and medicinal
herbs from certified organic and biodynamic cultivation. Two problems
- I found it chalky in consistency perhaps a bit too natural
for me and it contains sorbital a sweetener.

Comments: This toothpaste is marketed as a whitener,
mainly using an ingredient called Xylitol, a natural sugar alcohol
found in many fruits and vegetables that looks and tastes similar
to conventional sugar. Xylitol is naturally produced by the human
body and reported as completely safe. I need to understand more about
Xylitol before I commit to this brand but I liked the taste and it
cleaned well.
